We are Golding – thank you for looking!

Thank you for your interest in Golding Homes.

We are a Kent based housing association providing homes and services to our local communities.

We are keen to enhance our Board and recruit individuals who align with our values and work ethics, and in particular an alignment with our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion vision. With a new Equality, Diversity and Inclusion strategy being formulated to ensure these areas are at the heart of everything we do at Golding, we are keen to increase the diversity of our Board so that we can better understand and connect with our customers and colleagues. We are especially keen to increase the participation of women, those with disabilities and people from Black and Minority Ethnic backgrounds on our Board and welcome applications from these groups.

Our vision is to be the landlord of choice for Mid Kent and, in particular, the Maidstone community, providing quality homes and excellent customer service.

Established in 2004 following the transfer of homes from Maidstone Borough Council, we have invested more than £150m in regenerating our homes and neighbourhoods.

Whilst researching Golding Homes and our history, what will be less clear to you is the recent journey that Golding has been on and the work we are now prioritising to respond to the challenges we face. Late last year the Board learnt that as a landlord, we were not keeping our residents in the safe and secure environment that they should expect from a landlord of Golding’s magnitude. We have solid recovery plans in place to return all of our residents to the safe homes they deserve and in addition we are investing heavily to ensure that all our homes meet required standards.

As a Board we have undertaken an assessment of the skills and diversity we possess to ensure the first class governance of our business.

We now have a smaller board comprised of high quality board members working constructively with our Executive team and we are looking to enhance this with two new board members whom are experienced senior leaders and can bring expertise in the areas of Finance and Property Services.

In particular we are looking for expertise in the following areas:

  • Treasury management/risk management
  • Property related assets

Our priority continues to be to provide safe and secure homes for our residents in places where they choose to live. Today we manage over 7,500 properties and provide a home to more than 20,000 people. We are committed to developing high quality new homes for social, affordable and market rent, shared ownership and market sale.

All our profits are invested back into building more new homes, reinvesting in our housing stock and delivering services that have a positive impact on our customers’ lives.

If you have the right experience and are interested to know more about our journey and the opportunities, please watch the below video from our Board Chair Chris Cheeseman and please feel free to reach out for further information or an informal chat by emailing lindsey.shorricks@goldinghomes.org.uk.
