Job description

Group Manager – Corporate Landlord

37 Hours per week

Bridgend County Borough Council is a great place to live and work.  It occupies an enviable positon between Swansea and Cardiff and stretches from the scenic valleys to our beautiful coastline – presenting easy access to urban centres as well as picturesque rural and coastal settings.  As a result, there is something for everyone here, and plenty to do all year round.

If you are passionate about transforming the strategic and operational use of land and property assets to enable new ways of working and service delivery to the community then Bridgend County Borough Council offers an exciting opportunity.

This is a great time to join Bridgend County Borough Council. The Council has created an innovative integrated Corporate Landlord function with responsibility for all property assets and facilities management. The Council is now moving to the next phase of this transformation.

Our ambition is to create a best-in-class Corporate Landlord function, including: the development of strategic asset management plans; the delivery of a comprehensive and efficient facilities management service; the rationalisation of the operational and non-operational assets; management of the Council’s commercial portfolio; and, establishing innovative new solutions for improving the efficiency and management of our estate.

This post will provide strategic leadership and overall management of the Corporate Landlord function. This is a role that demands strong operational leadership credentials and effective interpersonal skills, which will inspire confidence with council members, customers, employees and partners.  You will lead a broad range of functions and a large staff group to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and quality outcomes.  Professionally qualified, you will bring a commercial perspective and considerable experience of working at a senior level.

This role is a great opportunity for you to develop your experience and knowledge to date and be part of the further expansion of our corporate landlord journey whether you are in similar role or looking to take the next step up in your career.
