We’re looking for an exceptional Head of Service who wants to make a difference and likes a challenge. If you have a proven track record of successfully managing an asset management service within a large organisation and excellent strategic vision and foresight, a fabulous opportunity has arisen to join the Asset Management team as a Head of Strategic Asset Management.

We’re one of the largest housing providers in the UK with over 45,000 homes across London, the South East and the Midlands, giving 90,000 people somewhere affordable to call their own.

At Optivo we understand the difference safe, secure and affordable homes can make to people’s lives.  We develop places with people, not profit, in mind, building homes and communities where people can thrive.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be the organisational lead ensuring Optivo implements best practice strategic asset management approaches. You’ll play a key role to ensure the organisation makes well informed investment and divestment decisions by being the responsible lead for accurate asset data. You’ll lead the development and application of stock appraisal tools and processes, implementing the asset management strategy and developing and implementing asset quality standards. You’ll be the lead client for a range of relevant improvement projects to ensure we have lean and digitally enabled processes.

What you’ll need

You’ll have a proven track record of successfully managing an asset management service within a comparable organisation, where customer satisfaction is at the heart of service delivery.

You’ll have the experience to agree, create and manage a planned investment programme based on stock data to maximise performance of the organisations assets and to meet all statutory requirements and service standards.

You’ll have extensive knowledge of Asset Management databases which hold stock data, energy data and compliance data.

You’ll have knowledge of social housing business planning, asset management activities and social housing management.

You’ll have knowledge of stock appraisal tools and appraisal assumptions – financial, strategic and other performance fit criteria as well as having a clear understanding of life cycle costing in the context of stock condition survey data.

You’ll have experience of drafting & compiling an asset management strategy for an organisation owning more than 10,000 homes of multiple tenure and construction types, including the ability to fully consult with residents, staff and stakeholders ensuring that their views and requirements are effectively reviewed and incorporated and ultimately delivered.

You will work with a range of residents and colleagues, so a positive approach to collaborative team working is essential. You’ll need to live our one team culture!

If you’re interested in having a conversation about this fantastic opportunity, please email our Talent Acquisition Team at TalentAcquisition@optivo.org.uk

What’s in it for you?

You’ll enjoy a great salary and benefits package, including 27 days (rising to 30 days) plus bank holidays, and a day off for your birthday. You can also buy and sell leave up to 5 days. We have generous pension and life assurance schemes too, plus a cycle to work scheme and travel loans. Add in a healthcare cash plan covering dental, glasses, physiotherapy, vaccinations, 24 hour GP and more, plus various high street discounts, (not to mention flexible working and in house career development opportunities). If you are passionate about what you do and share our ambitions, we look forward to hearing from you.

Inclusion and Diversity
At Optivo we work hard to create a diverse and inclusive culture and environment where people are respected for who they are. Encouraging inclusion is not just about protected characteristics, it’s about celebrating differences of thought, opinion, experience and perspective of each individual. We’re all different in our own way and we want our colleagues to feel comfortable, that they belong, and are safe to be themselves at work, without fear of being judged or excluded, but valued for their contribution to our One Team approach.
