Housing Enabling Officer
Salary: Up to £31,626 per annum
Epping Forest District Council (EFDC) are seeking to recruit a Housing Enabling Officer.

As the Housing Enabling Officer you will be responsible for facilitating the provision of affordable housing within the District by working with developers and housing associations on a caseload of developments.
You will be required to coordinate and maintain the Council’s Self-Build and Custom Housing Register and provide advice to planning colleagues, council members and planning applicants on the Council’s affordable housing requirements. This will include negotiating with developers and liaising with the Council’s Legal Services on the affordability requirements of Section 106 (Planning) agreements.
To be successful for the Housing Enabling Officer role, you will need to have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and possess a relevant housing or construction qualification. You should be able to demonstrate experience of working in a social housing environment and an understanding of the process of enabling new social/affordable housing. You will need to have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to influence and negotiate with others in relation to development-related issues.
