We are looking for professionals, with proven construction experience to join a dynamic service within the Council delivering a variety of projects and programmes on behalf of the Council to contribute to the ongoing growth, delivery and development of the City Strategy.

The Capital Programme Division reports to the Deputy Chief Executive and City Treasurer and is responsible for developing and delivering Major and Minor Capital Programmes across the City. The current value of the programme is £130m pa. The portfolio of work is varied and some of our current and previous projects that we have been involved include for example the construction of new schools, leisure centres, Marina’s, the North Manchester New Build Housing, the replacement of the National Cycling track and the Wythenshawe Hall fire restoration.

Capital Programmes require a suitably qualified and experienced Building Surveyor to work on across a diverse portfolio of works. You will have or be working towards a RICS or CIOB accredited degree or equivalent. You must be competent in analysing building defects, proficient at producing AutoCAD designs, specifying building works, possess a good working knowledge of building and planning legislation, H&S, CDM Regulations and current Building Contracts (including JCT, PSPC and NEC3/4).

Professionally you will be expected to work with limited supervision to deliver and manage construction contracts from commencement to completion; to quality, time and within budget.
