THE ROLE

I am seeking an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor in the Building Construction industry who has good English and at least basic German to join a firm of construction consultants to work in BERLIN, GERMANY

You are likely to have a Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or other construction / built environment subject with around three years or more quantity surveying and cost management experience.

You will do both pre contract and post contract work so a background in private practice quantity surveying is required.

You will have the opportunity to work on a range of projects including offices, hotels, residential and retail for fit out, refurbishment and new build.

You will work closely with clients, contractors etc. on high value projects from inception and feasibility stage to project delivery.

THE COMPANY

My client is a successful firm of construction consultants.

They work on projects for German and international clients for projects in Berlin and elsewhere in Germany.

They provide both cost management and project management services.

THE CANDIDATE

You will be an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager, with good English and at least basic German.

You will need to have a Degree or Diploma in a Construction / Built environment subject and have good previous quantity surveying and cost management experience ideally with both pre and post contract work experience. You may also be MRICS or similarly qualified or working towards becoming chartered.

You will work closely with the project manager and a senior Q.S. taking charge of all cost management, budgets, contracts management, and more.

Basic German is essential plus good English and to be keen to improve your German.

You should be able to run your own projects or work as part of a team on larger projects.

You should have gained experience as a Quantity Surveyor working specifically for another firm of quantity surveying consultants or with a multi disciplinary firm of consultants.

Excellent prospects for ambitious candidates to work closely with clients and the professional teams.

Salary is likely to be in the region of Euro 45000 to 65000 per annum or more for the right person.
