You will be working right at the heart of DIO USVF team, the area manager role will be a pinnacle position in ensuring the safe and compliance of the USF estate within the West region, you will be accountable and responsible for the delivery of prioritised management of the estate and projects against the DIO Business Plan in support of the USVF requirements within the UK. This senior role within the team will require a broad range of skill sets from diplomacy through to negotiation.
Responsibilities Main Responsibilities
The USF Area manager role has lead responsibility for issue management, analysis and escalation of identified issues and levels of performance that have the potential to impact DIO delivery across the estate. The post ensures the safe and legal use and upkeep of the estate complying with Host Nation requirements, evaluating and making decisions on USVF requests to operate the process of self delivery and managing the interface between DIO, USVF and Contractor with regard to Statutory and Mandatory obligations.
Main Responsibilities
Stakeholder Engagement – Provide a positive, collaborative and productive environment where internal and external stakeholders are kept informed and motivated to deliver against mutual objectives.
Leading & Communication - Strong management and organisational skills necessary to lead a team of people working in a range of functions across DIO USF and will take all important decisions affecting the management of their area of responsibility. Have strong motivational skills to encourage and lead staff through periods of organisational change and demanding delivery requirements.
Programme Management – Experienced in structured programme and contract management, possessing the skills and ability to execute and deliver specific large programmes and high priority projects specified in the Command Infrastructure Delivery Programme (CIDP). You should have an understanding of Facilities and Estate Management and associated delivery contracts.
MOD Estate Stewardship –Holds responsibility on a USAF operated MOD base to ensure that the estate is safe and legal, all UK statutory requirements are met as well as MOD mandatory requirements.
Risk Management – Ability to manage and understand a range of varied problems that require working across organisational boundaries, identifying risk mitigation and solutions to requirements
Desirable Experience & Skills
Facility management, Contract management, Compliance, mechanical & Electrical.
Flexible Location Roles
DIO RD USF are based across the UK including RAF Alconbury, RAF Croughton, RAF Fairford & RAF Menwith Hill. We offer a flexible base location for this role and will therefore would consider RAF Croughton or RAF Alconbury location as your duty station.
Work location will be agreed once the successful candidate has been selected.
