An exciting and varied opportunity has arisen for a qualified and enthusiastic individual to fully maintain the buildings of an impressive independent boarding school estate close to the River Stour in Wimborne and set around a grade 1 Manor House designed by Blore and Barry.
Reporting to the Director of Estates and leading a team of in-house trade teams, external contractors and specialist suppliers, the Maintenance Manager will be responsible for the daily maintenance of all buildings, service installations, safety systems, plant and finishes. In addition, the postholder will be required to work closely with the Estates Management Team on a range of improvement and alteration works whilst also managing all servicing, statutory testing, planned and reactive maintenance work.
Experience in a similar position working in both modern and historic buildings would be a distinct advantage, together with a sound knowledge of health and safety legislation, building services and building regulations.
We are seeking a proactive, competent and alert candidate who works efficiently at a strategic level and who organises and leads their team with clarity and strong guidance. A friendly and approachable manner is essential together with the ability to multi task and prioritise workloads in order to meet strict deadlines. An excellent work ethic, a “today” approach, flexibility and strong IT skills are also required.
