Senior Project Manager / Project Coordinator - German speaking

THE ROLE

I am seeking a Project Manager or Project Co-ordinator in the Building Construction industry who has fluent German and also English to join a firm of construction consultants in Hamburg, Germany.

You will work on industrial building construction projects from feasibility to project delivery and you will deal with both clients, other consultants and contractors.

Projects will include the construction of pharmaceutical buildings, manufacuturing buildings, logistics centres, warehouses etc.

THE COMPANY

My client is a large firm of construction consultants with offices worldwide.

They work on most types of projects including industrial, infrastructure, buildings etc.

They have a number of offices in Germany.

THE CANDIDATE

You will have a Degree or Masters or similar in a construction related subject e.g. Construction Management, Construction Project Management, Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying, Architecture, Civil Engineering etc.

You will need to have gained good post graduation experience in a building construction related role and have gained project management / project co-ordination experience on projects from inception to delivery.

You should have five years or more project management or project coordination experience.

You will ideally have been working for another firm of building construction consultants to have gained project management experience to include project organization, project objectives, project control, scheduling, documentation of project progress.

You will be able to head up meetings and deal with the client, the other consultants and the contractors.

Some experience of industrial building projects is required e.g. for manufacturing buildings, logistics buildings, warehouses, pharmaceutical buildings.

You must have a good understanding of the VOB and HOAI through all stages of the projects.

You will need fluent written and spoken German (at least at C1 level or above) plus good or fluent English.

Good communication and client facing skills are essential.

Salary is negotiable according to experience and there will be good prospects for promotion.
