Beach Baker are working exclusively with an expanding client-side organisation in the West Midlands. The successful candidate will be a Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute and be an Associate or Director in either a private practice or client-side organisation. Importantly, the firm's workload has increased due to COVID-19 and the consumer shift towards online shopping.

The firm have strong financial backing and specialise in the industrial and logistics sector, with assets predominantly based in the Midlands and the South-East. The successful candidate's primary purpose will be to work as the intermediary between the Directors, external planning consultants and the on-site construction team, along with the overall management of the planning consultants and the consequent submission of planning applications.

Candidate specification:

Private-sector / client-side backgrounds are preferred, along with prior commercial experience. The role is hands on and the firm have a dynamic attitude towards work; you will manage your own workload and report into the relevant scheme director accordingly. The successful candidate will be confident, client-facing and well-presented, with excellent communication skills and commercial acumen.

You should have a thorough understanding of the planning system, outstanding written skills and be a high achiever. You will be the first in-house planner (although there are others in the organisation with planning knowledge) and will be the 'go-to' planning contact for the firm. Sites are typically between 100 - 200 acres in size and are typically valued between £50m to £100m.
