Project Manager

£60,000+, per annum, dependent on experience

40 hours per week

Fixed-term contract until 31 August 2024 with option to extend by one to two years

Harrow School is situated in Harrow on the Hill in north-west London and is one of the best-known schools in the world. Around 830 boys study at Harrow and live in the School’s 12 boarding houses. Employees particularly value the School’s beautiful green estate, the positive working environment and good relationships with their colleagues.

The School’s estate extends to over 324 acres with approximately 150 buildings (many of which are listed), 70 acres of woodlands and gardens, a 60-acre farm and 120 acres of sports fields including a nine-hole golf course.

Over the next few years, the School will be significantly investing in its estate to deliver an ambitious multi-phase capital development programme of new-build and refurbishment projects that include a new sports centre, new science block and the refurbishment of the dining hall and various boarding houses.

We are recruiting two experienced Project Managers to be responsible for a variety of capital projects at different stages of development. They will project-manage all relevant operations: appointing and managing the consultants and contractors, determining site-wide logistics, and maintaining cost controls by determining an overall programme of works (including design, procurement, construction and commissioning).

This role will suit a candidate with a good, demonstrable experience of managing multi-disciplinary teams to successfully deliver high-profile capital projects in an operationally live environment. Full membership of RICS/APM is desirable, as is experience with heritage/conservation projects. The position would be ideal for someone who would relish the opportunity to join our friendly team, involve themselves in large, complex projects and play a leading role in this historic period of our vibrant School.

Benefits include free lunches for full time staff, automatic enrolment in the School’s pension scheme, use of the School’s sports facilities and subsidised membership of the tennis, golf, angling and social clubs.

Application packs are available from www.harrowschool.org.uk/contact/work-at-harrow or by contacting the HR department at recruitment@harrowschool.org.uk CVs without the application form will not be accepted as it forms the important first step in our safeguarding process.

Closing date: Monday 18th January 2020.

The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All successful applicants must be willing to undergo enhanced child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with any past employer and the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Harrow School is an equal opportunities employer.
