Senior Technical Project Manager – London, Waterloo: Our growing London Office needs a new client-focused, chartered, Senior Technical Project Manager, with excellent prospects for progression. At Focus we believe in our people and have a first-class track record of supporting training and career development. This is an exciting opportunity for a high calibre individual to join and strengthen our growing team. You must have either a Building Surveying or Quantity Surveying background, or equivalent technical training. You’re a problem solver, creative, and think on your feet. The ideal candidate will have experience in the social housing and/or public sector and be comfortable in the Employer’s Agent and/or Contract Administration role.
Key Responsibilities
Working alongside our existing Project Management team, you will lead on projects from inception to completion covering stages including project concept and brief development, procurement of consultancy team and contractors, development and implementation of project infrastructures and communication strategies, chairing management and co-ordination meetings, developing and implementing management co-ordination and reporting systems, directing, monitoring and overseeing the design activity, undertaking risk management studies and implementing control procedures, monitoring and overseeing the construction, fit-out and handover phases of the project.
Ideally you may have experience in one or more of the following but we will consider broader skillsets – it’s all about the right person! There is limited line management responsibility with the initial post but ability to grow a team going forward.

You will be proactive, enthusiastic and ambitious, have good interpersonal skills, be keen to learn and to be challenged. Educated to a good standard, we expect you to have completed relevant professional training/degree, MRICS or membership of other relevant professional body and to be IT literate. You will be able to demonstrate strong technical delivery experience and have an ability to build long-term relationships. A track record of working with teams and managing projects by prioritising workloads and delivering deadlines will stand you in good stead.
