Space Utilisation Officer - NHS - 3-6 month contract

Your new company
An NHS Foundation Trust in Nottingham are seeking to appoint a Space Utilisation Officer on an interim basis - the assignment will be full time and around 3-6 months in length. The purpose of this role is to support the Property and Space Utilisation Project Manager in undertaking the work relating to the administration, general management of space and property aspects of the Trusts portfolio to the team and wider clinical services.

Your new role
In your new role you will support and advise Directorates with specific property/ accommodation projects across sites within the Trust as and when required. You will work closely with and coordinate the work of other Departments including Health Informatics Service Estates, Facilities Services etc. to ensure the project plan comes in on time and budget. This requires the formulation and monitoring of the project plans and overall programs. You will assist the Property and Space Utilisation Project Manager when meeting with managers and provide support when obtaining a brief of their accommodation requirements. The role will involve discussing how the accommodation can be set up to work best for them; talking through various options on building layout, involving Trust's approved contractors and suppliers, if required and developing layout drawings. You will act as the point of contact in respect of the Trusts accommodation requirements, formalising such accommodation requests and agreeing the way forward.

There will be the continuous management of the supply and demand of space with the ultimate aim of providing pragmatic solutions through collaborative discussions with service leads and employees. You will take delegated responsibility when required on individual projects from inception to completion. Project managing specific projects across sites within the Trust providing support to management, facilitating and monitoring the progress of each project with the Directorate representatives and working closely with the other corporate departments to facilitate a smooth project delivery.

What you'll need to succeed
The role requires an experienced professional with highly developed organisational and communication skills and ability to provide specialist space management advice based on their own interpretation. To provide expertise, skills, knowledge and experience on a range of project management and space utilisation issues including project management, construction schemes and space utilisation issues, to staff at all levels within the Trust.

  • Knowledge and proficient use of CAD systems and Microsoft Office Programs.
  • Good understanding of change management principles.
  • Knowledge of Space Utilisation practices, procedures and principles in building
  • Strong leadership experience of project management and delivery.
  • You must have a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
