Repairs Service Coordinator/ Manager - long term temporary vacancy - local authority in Nottingham

Your new company
A local authority in Nottinghamshire are seeing to appoint a Repairs Service Coordinator on a temporary, ongoing contract starting asap. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be working Monday to Friday full time 8am - 4pm. The role is predominantly working from home but may require you to go out on site to resolve any major issues.

Your new role
In your new role you will take the lead in the delivery of repairs and maintenance to Council owned properties by Trade Operatives assigned to the team ensuring all work undertaken is on schedule and within budget. You will manage a team of contractors made up of plumbers, painters and Plasterers to ensure all repairs are completed within an appropriate timescale. It will be your responsibility to ensure that suitable health and safety provisions are in place and that risk assessments are undertaken prior to commencement of work as required. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the correct time and material allocation is assigned to each job in order to maximise the percentage of 'right first time' and 'completion on first visit'. You will also be required to assist the Work Schedulers with the assignment of work and cover for the other Service Co-coordinators as required.

What you'll need to succeed
You must have prior experience managing contractors and will ideally come from a trades background. You must be able to travel to different locations where necessary and have access to transport. Strong knowledge of the plumbing industry will be beneficial. You must have strong planning, organisation and management skills and be available for an immediate start.
