Full time, permanent vacancy based in Reading

The role

As a Senior Estates Surveyor, you will take a lead role in the Estates team, acting as a role model and advisor, undertaking complex work.  You will hold a RICS qualification, and have extensive land and property experience. You will be involved in a wide variety of surveying work, which will keep your days varied and interesting, enabling you to use your knowledge and experience gained through your career. You will take a lead on supporting major projects, delivering land entry and acquisition and will also deal with all aspects of estate management, including leases and disposals. There will be opportunities for you offer technical advice and guidance to other teams members. With a focus on our customers, this role will involve regular travel around your work area including some remote locations and local and national travel. A full and valid driving licence is essential. You will be provided with a vehicle to carry out this work if required.

About you

As a Senior Estates Surveyor, you will be a chartered surveyor (MRICS or FRICS), with substantial experience of working in a professional estates service and a proven track record of delivering results. A credible and enthusiastic communicator with good networking skills, you’ll be highly effective at both written and verbal communication with experience of developing working relationships with a wide range of colleagues and key stakeholders at a senior level.

Your experience will include managing a diverse land and property portfolio, including property management, valuation and dealing with landlord and tenant issues to provide sustainable use and deliver best practice. As a confident negotiator, you will be able to secure access and appropriate interests, along with settling compensation claims. With an up-to-date knowledge of current legislation and best practice, you’re able to provide technical leadership, guidance and support to other members of your team on surveying matters.
