Building Control (West) Lead (Grade: 8-9)
Salary range:  £47,164 - £61,457 per annum
Full Time Permanent

Following a recent restructure, Guildford Borough Council Building Control are looking for a Senior Building Control Surveyor.

You will be responsible for supervising, mentoring and allocating work to a small team of surveyors.  You will also take responsibility for some of the more complex developments within the Borough.

Successful candidates should be professionally qualified MRICS, MCABE or equivalent, and should have a building related degree or similar qualification.  An LABC Level 6 Building Standards Fire Safety Specialist qualification is desirable.  You should also have several years of post-qualification experience. 

You should have a sound technical knowledge of specialist areas including fire engineering and structural appraisal in addition to a comprehensive technical knowledge of building practices and current building legislation.

You should also have a positive attitude to change, be an effective communicator and be able to form productive working relationships.

You must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to your own car to carry out this role.

A basic DBS check will be required for the successful candidate prior to appointment.
