Senior Project Manager / Project Co-ordinator - Berlin

THE ROLE

I am seeking a Project Manager or Project Co-ordinator in the Building Construction industry who has good or fluent German and good English to join a firm of construction consultants in Berlin.

You will be responsible for new build construction projects, initially self storage units, across Germany and some travel to sites will be required.

You will work on projects from feasibility to project delivery and you will deal with international clients through to contractors on site.

Experience in the use of the VOB and other contracts is required and previous experience of working on hotels, student accommodation or high rise residential is preferred.

Experience of all sections of doing construction projects under the HOAI essential.

THE COMPANY

My client is a successful firm of construction consultants providing clients with Project Management, Cost Management and Construction Management services.

THE CANDIDATE

You will be Degree qualified in a construction related subject e.g. Construction Management, Construction Project Management, Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying, Architecture, Civil Engineering etc.

Ideally you may also be Chartered i.e. MICE, MCIOB, MRICS or similar.

You will need to have gained a number of years experience in a building construction related role and have gained a number of years in project management working on projects from inception through delivery.

You will ideally have been working for a firm of building construction consultants or worked client-side.

You should be able to create the planning phase tender documents and negotiate and deal with award of contracts and appointments.

You will need experience of liaising with planners, contractors and statutory authorities.

You must have a good understanding of all commercial and economic aspects of construction projects of high value.

You should have experience of construction projects in Germany with a full understanding of the VOB and all stages of the HOAI.

You will need fluent German. Good English is also preferred. Previous experience of working in the German construction industry is a must.

Good communication skills are essential and to have the ability to deal with people at all levels.

Excellent prospects for ambitious candidates within their Berlin office and a chance of promotion as my client is considering opening another office in Germany.

Salary is negotiable according to experience but in the region of Euro 70000 to 850000 per annum plus other benefits.
