Your new company is an established independent firm of construction experts specialising in architectural, surveying and project management services for clients across a range of sectors including education, social housing, healthcare, corporate property and more.

Your new role
As a senior building surveyor your role will be a client facing position. You will be responsible for advising clients on a variety of property matters, providing exceptional levels of service from initial contact and throughout each project or instruction.

Your initial workload and project focus will centre around £multi-million social housing work, including window, roof and cladding replacements as well as upgrades to systems on residential blocks, inspecting and reporting on conditions, identifying defects and necessary improvements, and project managing required works, predominantly providing contract administration throughout.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed in this role, you will need to be a building surveyor with a minimum of three years of recent experience in a social housing focused consultancy position, preferably leading on major works projects on the behalf of local authorities or Social Housing providers.

Up to date knowledge of building regulations specifically relating to social housing blocks is essential to this position as your clients will expect you to be highly knowledgeable on recent changes to social housing H&S compliance.

You will need high levels of written and verbal communication as managing contractors and consultants as well as providing clarity to clients will be a key part of your role.

You will need a fully valid driver's license and access to a vehicle as regular travel to sites (some of which are not easily accessible by public transport) will be a part of the role.

What you'll get in return
In return for your work you will receive an annual salary, currently bench-marked at £45-50k per annum (dependent on your relevant experience). In addition you will be entitled to 25 days of annual leave a year and will be enrolled on a company pension scheme.

Annual bonuses will be considered subject to performance and fee generation, and performance reviews will be carried out on an annual basis potentially resulting in pay increments or promotions based on contribution to the business.

Professional membership fees will be covered if you are a member of the RICS, and if you are interested in pursuing professional qualifications all efforts will be made to support you along the way.

You will benefit from a varied workload which spans multiple sectors, and whilst your key focus will be social housing there will be opportunities to branch into healthcare, education and commercial project work too.
