Housing Surveyor required - interim vacancy in Nottinghamshire

Your new company
A Housing Association in Nottinghamshire are seeking to appoint a Housing Surveyor on a freelance basis. The role will be working from home where possible and will require you to visit homes to complete inspections (although in some instances it will be possible to complete virtually from home). You will be required to work Monday - Friday on a full time basis for an initial term of 3 months. This does have the opportunity to extend due to a backlog of work and an ever-increasing workload.

Your new role
You will be required to contribute to the responsive maintenance service across Nottinghamshire within Property Services, ensuring that it is efficient and that excellent standards of customer service are delivered.
You will be responsible for carrying out property inspections including quality assurance, stock condition, EPCs and other surveys and also providing continual updates to the Keystone asset database with survey and contract outputs, as-built drawings, photographs and certificates. You will manage the carrying out of responsive repairs and maintenance activities, delivered by external contractors ensuring that all work is completed to a high standard.

In your new role you will be required to draw up specifications, repairs orders and contract documents for reactive works. You will manage internal and external contractor performance to deliver those works on time, on budget and to the required standard. Effective contract administration to include instructions, valuations, certificates, accounts and documentation. Contributing to Health and Safety activity to ensure 100% compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. Carrying out scheme, COSE and risk assessments on schemes. Identifying operational risks and taking action to mitigate those risks.

What you'll need to succeed
You must have prior experience working as a Maintenance Surveyor/ Housing Surveyor and will be available to start ASAP. You must be willing to complete a DBS application via Hays although you will be able to start your new role whilst this is in process.You will have a HNC or equivalent construction qualification. You will ideally have multi-trades knowledge and the ability to direct and manage contractors.
