Duties:

The Borough of Dartford is a dynamic and exciting place, which is seeing a significant amount of regeneration and growth, making it a place of choice for living, working and enjoying leisure time.

The Council has recently approved a new corporate restructure, which will ensure it is in a strong position to face the many challenges ahead. As part of this restructure, the Council is recruiting an Asset Management & Major Projects Officer, responsible for major construction and regeneration projects across the Council, including providing a full range of related management and delivery services, following approved industry standard, and effective project management processes, such as defined by a professional project management organisation, such as the APM (Association for Project Management) or the PMI (Project Management Institute ), as well as adhering to internal Council processes, guidelines & professional standards.

The post holder will be responsible for monitoring and addressing the Council’s property portfolio’s (excluding council housing) exposure to risks, such as financial, legal and reputational.

The successful candidate will be part of a diverse team dealing with a range of property & project matters, driving regeneration and income opportunities and must be able to manage competing demands and be an effective communicator with all levels of stakeholders involved in projects, and be able to build good relationships to aid the smooth and effective progression of all areas of projects and work packages.

If you have relevant experience of asset/property project management in either the public or private sector (or ideally experience of both) and monitoring and addressing exposure to risks, then we would be keen to hear from you.

Additional Information:

This post is considered by DBC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.

37 hours per week, Monday – Friday.  Free parking. Flexi-time available.
