Hours: Full-Time, 37 hours per week

Base: County Hall, Beverley, East Riding of Yorkshire

We seek an experienced and proactive chartered surveyor to take a leading role in advising on the council’s diverse property interests focussing on commercial development, estate management and valuation.

You will be a key member of the award winning friendly and commercially focussed valuation and estates team dealing personally with complex and varied commercial, industrial, leisure, retail, development land and operational property casework helping to ensure that we optimise the value from our property assets.  The role involves working closely with multi-disciplinary colleagues and external parties to support sustainable economic growth, regeneration and strong communities allowing you to apply and develop your skills on a wide range of interesting work whilst gaining real job satisfaction from delivering valuable projects for the local community.

As a team leader you will oversee a small number of officers providing support with their work involving estates management, disposals and acquisitions and will mentor their professional development.  You will need to be a fair but strong negotiator, have an excellent grounding in landlord and tenant matters and be confident in carrying out valuations.  Above all we seek an individual who is positive, enthusiastic and has experience and character to meet challenges and develop intelligent clear solutions.
