Senior Estates surveyor

Hays Property and Surveying are seeking a Senior Estates Surveyor to join a leading Public Sector organisation in Dorset. However, as the majority of this role is via remote working, there is a degree of flexibility of where you can be based.

The organisation holds a significant operational and investment commercial property portfolio located across areas of the Dorset region. The assets typically consist of offices, public spaces, leisure facilities, industrial, retail and other commercial buildings. The in-house Estates Team are responsible for managing these assets on a day-to-day basis, providing a professional service for all property related matters.

The Estates Team are now looking to appoint an additional Senior Estates Surveyor to join them on a temporary basis for a minimum of 6 - 12 months.

Your new role
As a Senior Estates Surveyor, you will be responsible for providing an effective and efficient estate management service, assisting and advising the wider organisation on a range of property related matters.

Specific responsibilities may include;

• Day-to-day estate management of a portfolio of commercial property
• Undertake and negotiate on lease renewals, rent reviews and licence terms
• Negotiate on the acquisition and disposal of property
• Prepare comprehensive property asset valuation reports
• Liaise with tenants, landlords and other third parties, such as solicitors and property agents
• Advise on other property related matters such as business rates, dilapidations and wayleaves

What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed within the role, you will need;

• MRICS qualified preferred, but not essential if equivalent experience is held
• Demonstrable experience of managing a commercial property portfolio
• Experience in undertaking a range of professional commercial property tasks, such as lease renewals and rent reviews
• Proficient knowledge of landlord and tenant legislation
• Strong levels of both written and verbal communication
