Your new role
As a Property Asset Management Officer, you will be working within the asset management team managing the organisation's property portfolio. You will be working on an exciting variety of property portfolio including listed buildings, live entertainment venues through to operational commercial properties leased to partner organisations such as scout huts to large properties including retail outlets and shops. You will be operating as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide a focused commercial property asset management resource that contributes to the delivery of the organisation's plans and strategy. You will manage the organisation's diverse portfolio of property assets to best effect in terms of fit for purpose, project delivery, financial efficiency, income generation and value for money. This would include managing and negotiating leases, tenancy agreements, negotiations for acquisition and/or disposal of all types of legal and equitable interests in or relating to land and property. This is one of a number of posts that will work flexibly as a team ensuring that the service is delivered effectively, efficiently and customer focused and with regard to the principles of asset-based community development.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this position as a Property Asset Management Officer it is vital you hold thorough professional knowledge of effective property asset management principles and practises including the valuation of commercial property. Working knowledge of Landlord and Tenant law and dealing with rent reviews/lease renewals and all commercial LL&T matters is also essential. Ideally you will hold a professional qualification appropriate to the remit of the role or equivalent in experience, as well as post qualification experience in commercial property asset management (preferably relating to a mixed property portfolio). Experience of commercial valuations in accordance with the RICS, CIPFA and Accounting Standard will also be preferable.
