I am currently working with a council near Gloucestershire to recruit for a Development Surveyor on a 6 month contract. This will be an instrumental position in the commercial developments that the council is looking to bring forward. This role could lead to a permanent role for the right candidate. Having worked with this council for over two years I can confirm that the senior management team are genuinely lovely people and this council has real ambition.

My client is a local authority based very near the county of Gloucestershire. They have a number of commercial developments that they want to bring forward.

Description

The key responsibilities that the Development Surveyor will have responsibility will include, but is not limited to:

• overseeing property developments from empty plots of land to fully operational buildings
• researching the local property market
• evaluating development plans, taking into consideration a range of legal, social, financial and environmental factors
• advising clients and colleagues about how developments can be granted planning permission
• preparing and submitting applications for planning permission
• preparing maps and reports
• analysing changes in planning policy and law that may affect property development
• liaising with architects, builders, engineers and other construction professionals
• measuring and valuing land and property
• visiting property sites in order to keep track of developments

Profile

The successful Development Surveyor would have:

- Ideally worked for a LA previously; or have completed Development projects for LAs

- Is a strong team player

- Has significant development experience

- Is comfortable working on a six month contract
