The company

A well known independent property practice with offices across the South Coast, Surrey, Berkshire and into The Midlands are looking for a Senior Associate / Partner Building Surveyor to drive building consultancy functions in the home counties, working from one of two offices, with the aim to develop a building surveying team under their supervision and leadership.

Having bucked the trend in 2020, and remaining busy through adaptibility and strong commercial accumen, the business has stolen a headstart on other consultancies in the area, building relationships, securing deals and forward planning a strong work pipeline that requries a new team to manage and maintain.

Working from either the company's Sussex office, or their hub on the Berkshire border, you will provide building surveying services to commercial clients within the M25 corridor.

The role

As a Senior Associate / Partner Building Surveyor you will report directly into the Head of Building Consultancy for the company, and to the Head of Office (equity partner) leading the delivery of building surveying services across the M25 corridor from the regional hub near Ascot or from the Crawley business space.

You will focus on driving new business streams and cross selling building consultacy services to new and existing clients, developing new revenue streams for the team. Working with around 20 other building surveyors from across the Southern region, you will be responsible for providing the following building surveying services:

  • Pre-acquisition surveys
  • Dilapidations
  • Technical due diligence
  • Schedules of Conditions
  • Project Management / Contract Administration

In addition to the above you will be an ambassador for the company, working in unison with the offic leads for multiple disciplines to develop business and build relationships with clients.

The position of Senior Associate / Partner Building Surveyor comes with excellent benefits. Alongside a highly competitive base salary, the company offers a £5500 car allowance, with an additional benefits package including life insurance and private healthcare.

You'll be entitled to 25 days holiday plus the 8 standard UK bank holidays. At senior building surveyor level you will be enrolled into a company pension with 4% input from both sides.

This is an excellent opportunity to be a pivotal member of a core specialist team, starting small, the building surveying function will grow around you as the workload increases. You will also benefit from support from building surveying colleagues in the Reading and London branches of the business.

The requirements

In order to be considered for this role, you will need to be:

  • A proven business winner, with a history of securing work from new and existing clients
  • An excellent track record of successful delivery in both projects and professional work,
  • An excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing,
  • Motivated to develop business and build work pipelines,
  • Highly organised and able to manage your own and others' time effectively,

you will need to be a fully member of the RICS for this Senior Associate / Partner role, either MRICS or FRICS, and will need to have a strong background in technical commercial building surveying.

You will also need to be working at, or have worked at a minimum of an associate building surveyor level within a Construction & Property Consultancy.

You will also need a full and valid UK Driving license and access to a vehicle as you will be expected to travel across Surrey, Berkshire and West Sussex for this role.
