Senior Associate Building Surveyor

A Leading London based multi-disciplinary property consultancy geared towards full property lifecycle management, with specialist teams focusing on investment and development, management, maintenance, building consultancy and more.

120 years since they first started trading they have become renowned for their expertise and industry knowledge. Now operating from several hubs across the South East, their client base includes global brands and household names across industrial, commercial, retail and residential markets.

Due to the retirement of a key member of staff in the Building Consultancy team the business is now looking for a Senior Associate level Building Surveyor.

The role

As a Senior Associate, you will be the lead building surveyor for the London building consultancy team, reporting into the Head of Building Consultancy for the group.

Under the headcount of the East London team, and managing a team of building surveyors from Assistant to Senior level, you will be responsible for the following technical survey work:

• Dilapidations
• Building Survey & Defect investigations
• Expert Reports
• Party Wall & Neighbour Issues
• Project Management
• Reinstatement Cost Assessments
• Schedules of Condition and Licences

In addition to the above you will be responsible for generating new and repeat business for the company, working in collaboration with colleagues from other disciplines to cross sell services and drive revenue from clients.

You will also be responsible for developing more junior surveyors, assisting them on survey work, and mentoring graduates towards their APCs.

The Rewards

The role of senior associate building surveyor comes with a salary range of £60-70K which is dependent on relevant experience and ability.

In addition to the base salary the your new employer will provide an achieveable and rewarding bonus scheme based on business generated and fees secured, paid on an annual basis.

This role has been created with progession in mind, and with the right attitude and input the directors invisage promotion to divisional partner somewhere between 12-18 months with the business.

You will be entitled to 25 days of annual leave per annum with the additional 8 bank holidays as you would expect, and you will be enrolled automatically onto the company pension scheme.

The Requirements

The requirements for the Senior Associate Building Surveyor position are as follows:

You must be a full member of the royal institute of chartered surveyors, with a minimum of a years experience at Associate Building Surveyor level.

You must be a strong technical surveyor with specific experience in commercial property survey work, such as dilapidations and pre-acquisition surveys.

This is a client facing role so strong written and verbal communication is essential, and you will need to be able to present confidently to clients at a senior level.

Prior management and mentoring of surveyors and team members will be a requirement for this position, as a significant proportion of your responsibilities will be related to leading and managing a team of several surveying staff
