Cornwall Council manages approximately 4,300 separate assets across the whole County. The breadth of assets ranges from large office buildings occupied by staff, through to commercial industrial units, retail opportunities, and Council farms, and a number of beaches, public open space, heritage assets, sports facilities to name a few.

The Council In House Property team are responsible for the management of existing landlord and tenant relationships, the creation of new income streams via concession opportunities, wayleaves and easements, disposal and devolution of assets and general valuation and property advice to the Council and its individual service areas.

This new post will increase the capacity in the Non-Operational Property team to manage all property matters on approximately 2000 assets. The work will suit a Chartered Surveyor with general practice experience who enjoys the day to day management of landlord and tenant property, and is happy to get their sleeves rolled up to find new property solutions to issues that enable the Council to deliver across its wide range of ambitions, strategies and outcomes.

The Estate Team comprises 17 Chartered Surveyors, 4 trainees and 5 support staff.
