Intermediate Project Manager / Co-ordinator - German speaking

THE ROLE

I am seeking an Intermediate Project Manager or Project Co-ordinator in the Building Construction industry who has good or fluent German and good English to join a firm of construction consultants in Berlin.

You will assist the Senior Project Manager working on new build construction projects, including hotels, offices, residential and more.

You will work on projects from feasibility to project delivery and you will deal with international clients through to contractors on site.

Experience in the use of the VOB and other contracts is preferred.

Experience of all sections of doing construction projects under the HOAI is preferred.

THE COMPANY

My client is a successful firm of construction consultants providing clients with Project Management, Cost Management and Construction Management services.

They are working on building construction projects across Germany and sometimes outside of Germany too.

THE CANDIDATE

You will be Degree qualified in a construction related subject e.g. Construction Management, Construction Project Management, Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying, Architecture, Civil Engineering etc.

Ideally you will be working towards becoming chartered with ICE, IOB, RICS or similar.

You will need to have gained around three years experience in a building construction related role and be keen to progress your career with a firm of consultants doing project management and project co-ordination.

You will ideally have been working for a firm of building construction consultants or worked client-side.

You must have an understanding of all commercial and economic aspects of construction projects of high value.

You should ideally have experience of construction projects in Germany with an understanding of the VOB and all stages of the HOAI.

You will need fluent or near fluent German. Good English is also preferred. Previous experience of working in the German construction industry is required.

Good communication skills are essential and to have the ability to deal with people at all levels.

Excellent prospects for ambitious candidates within their Berlin office and a chance of promotion as my client is considering opening another office in Germany.

Salary is negotiable according to experience but in the region of Euro 55000 to 70000 per annum plus other benefits along with support towards becoming chartered as a project manager.
