Building Surveyor

The Company

Your new company is a well known independent, multi-disciplinary construction consultancy and public sector property specialist with several offices across the UK. This business provides surveying, cost consultancy, architecture, project management and engineering services to a range of clients spanning Local Authorities, Housing Associations, Blue Light organisations, Healthcare clients, commercial landlords and more.

Following continued success, and recent APC Building surveyors' qualification, the business is now looking for their next generation of APC candidates to join the team with qualification in mind.

The role

APC Building Surveyors will be reporting into an Associate Director at the South East London office, and working collaboratively as a team across a range of clients. You will be responsible for your own workload, operating autonomously on smaller instructions and contracts as well as tackling some higher value, complex projects with support and sign off from Senior Surveyors within the team.

Responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to the following:

Building surveys and specific defect analysis

Contract Administration on repair and refurbishment projects

Project Management, including progress reports, site inspections, cost reporting etc.

The requirements

As the business is looking for an APC Building Surveyor, they expect a minimum of two years experience in a graduate or assistant building surveyor position, or alternatively a year of APC diary contributions and level 1 competencies met.

You will hold either a Bachelor's or Master's (or equvalent level) degree in Building Surveying, and have experience working independently to manage projects (small or large) from client brief through contract administration to handover.

Ideally you will have worked for a consultancy covering public sector housing or local authority projects annd have the confidence to operate with minimal supervision.

You will need to be within an hour's commute from Eltham and have a full, valid UK driver's license.
