Park Avenue are currently looking for an experienced Interim Corporate Director to work with one of our Local Authority clients in the South West.
This position will based around the effective leadership to the Council in the development, implementation, delivery, and continuous improvement to the regeneration strategy for the short and long-term profitability and growth of the organisation.
Short-term objective will be to scope and successfully procure the most effective commercial vehicle for regeneration within the Council.
Key Job Functions
Commercial - Act as the authority's lead officer for planning the regeneration strategy and development of the most appropriate regeneration vehicle to ensure the best possible services and outcomes.
Governance - To ensure that all regeneration commissioning delivers safe and effective services, within the context of the Council's governance framework and secure value for money in all areas of regeneration and development activity of the council and wider public services in the conurbation.
Leadership - To be part of the Council's Leadership Team, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer.
What you need
- Experience of working within a similar role within a public sector organisation.
- Understanding of the workings of local government, the current and future issues to be faced and the financial, legal and political context of public sector management.
- Able to develop, communicate and gain ownership for a clear vision and direction for the Directorate, and in terms of the Council as a whole.
- Able to lead and manage organisational and cultural change.
- Able to establish positive relationships with elected Members.
The position will be for an initial 6 month contract and there has already been indication that an extension is possible.
Due to Covid19, the role will initially be home based with a view to be in the office on occasion once social distancing has been lifted in line with government guidelines.
The contract will run off a 37 hour week.
