Associate Director Building Surveyor

The role

You will be joining an established boutique London consultancy to take over from a retiring surveyor at the business. A company with excellent relationships with long standing occupier and owner clients across a commercial market, the key aim for the position will be to build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, and ideally securing new clients for the company.

Working with a senior building surveyor, alongside a project management and QS team, you will be instrumental in both development and delivery of building surveying work which will involve the following diverse areas:

• Specification Writing
• Contract Administration (familiarity with JCT suite of contracts, particularly IFC and Minor Works)
• Building Surveys/Defect Diagnosis
• Party Wall Matters
• Dilapidations
• CDM
• Building Reinstatement Valuations

You will also be involved in growing the building surveying team as the company look to expand within the next year.

The rewards

As associate director of building surveying you will receive a salary of £70-75K, as well as private healthcare cover, 25 days of holiday, a death in service benefit and a company pension with 5% employer contribution.

You'll be given the opportunity to progress to director pending client development and additional fee income, and will have the freedom to build your own team in line with business growth.

The company offers full flexibility, and an office in an idylic location, a 5 minute walk from Hyde Park.

The requirements

There are key requirements for this position which are as follows:

You will hold a relevant Degree level qualification in Building Surveying or a closely related subject, and will be a fully qualified chartered building surveyor (MRICS)
Good numeracy, literacy and English language skills are essential, as well as strong client facing skills, including confidence to present.

Ideally you will have prior experience working at an Associate Partner or Associate Director level, and you will need to have experience managing senior building surveyors within a team.
