Job Details

Development Manager working for a London Residential Developer with primary purpose to successfully achieve planning consent on multiple schemes with GDVs up to c. £50m.

Client Details

Our client is a well-established property development company with a strong track record in delivering quality schemes in the London Residential market. They currently have an existing pipeline in excess of 2,500 units, at various stages from conception through to construction delivery stage.

The successful Development Manager will be working closely with the Development Director and the wider Development team to ensure the successful deliver of all projects.

Description

Carry out relevant due diligence process and ensure all identified sites have been technically, legally and commercially appraised.

Assist the selection, briefing and appointments of the design consultants.

Lead the preparation and lodgement of planning applications, through to approval.

Be highly conversant with local planning processes.

Effectively communicate proposed planning, urban design guidelines and design intent of project elements to internal and external stakeholders.

Liaise with relevant project team to ensure timely and appropriate delivery of planning reports for integration and coordination with architectural, engineering, ad other planning documentation and seek the appropriate input of relevant technical material to facilitate the production of planning proposals.

Manage discharge of planning conditions.

Prepare project viability appraisals and manage them throughout the project lifecycle.

Select, negotiate terms of appointment, appoint, direct and control consultants to provide design and other professional services.

Together with the Development Director, manage a process of consultation with key stakeholders and the local community. This will include explaining proposals, collecting suggestions and feedback and managing expectations.

Provide input and assistance into the preparation and management of a development programme.

Prepare and maintain inputs for the Project Viability Appraisals.

Profile

In order to be considered you must already be operating as a chartered Development Manager within the London Residential market and have a demonstrable track record of obtaining planning consent on multiple schemes.

You will need to demonstrate a good understanding of the property development process, in particular planning.
