Investment Associate

Investment Associate with 3+ years’ RE experience required for a well- established, independent property investment platform based in Guildford.
Supporting the origination, acquisition, and active management of commercial RE assets throughout the UK, you will assist in deploying third party and co-investment capital on a deal-by-deal basis.
The investment strategy is across UK commercial real estate sectors, with a value-add to opportunistic approach, and assets are typically sourced off-market to reposition/redevelop and sell or hold for income.

The founders of the business have long track records in successful UK real estate investment, the team is small but expanding with significant deal activity and considerable investor appetite to deploy capital. To effectively manage the deal pipeline, they need to bring on board an Investment Associate with a remit to underwrite, assess and analyse deals and conduct due-diligence on those that progress. Working very closely with the founders, you’ll have broad responsibility, adding value to the investment and management processes across the lifespan of the deal.

The Role
The successful candidate will be keen to work across all functions of the business – from investment and finance underwriting to the operational management through to investor reporting. A confident, ambitious self-starter who wants to take ownership of a project and run with it as a key member of the deals and asset management function is what is required.

Responsibilities

- Analysing new investment opportunities
- Developing and improving existing underwriting and operational models
- Helping coordinate advisors through the investment process
- Taking the lead on building out a new, online investor portal
- Assisting in the development and execution of a business plan for each asset acquired
- Appraising asset management initiatives
- Assisting in the preparation of quarterly forecasting and cash flow analysis
- Monitoring the performance of investments

Qualifications/Skills/Experience

- Property or Finance-related Degree
- MRICS is advantageous but not a prerequisite
- Good understanding of the UK regions/cities
- Minimum 3yrs experience in the property market, research /analysis environments
- Highly skilled in the use of Microsoft Office, in particular Excel
- Experience of creating property cashflows and financial modelling
- Wider understanding of property investment and development principles
- Strong analytical skills, numeracy and writing skills
- Experience of building presentations / reports
- Attention to detail and ability to self-manage workload.
