Cornwall Council is looking for a new Strategic Property Lead to manage its Operational, Non-Operational Portfolios, Valuations and Data Systems Teams. As a key member of the Senior Management Team of a newly re-structured Property Services, you will be responsible for the activities of the of the teams managing the end to end aspects of the Council property portfolio, comprising of bespoke and long term uses such as farms, schools and other assets like, road verges, retaining walls and coastal defences or beaches, as well as for service delivery and operational administration.

The Council is undertaking a town-based review of its assets, ensuring that all estates initiatives are joined-up and communities are placed at the centre of key decisions, whilst it centralises the management of its own estate and associated budgets. You will be working with the Head of Property to deliver on these ambitious plans to transform the management of the Council’s assets to support corporate objectives, plus delivering improved social/economic outcomes for the towns, residents and communities of Cornwall. 

We are looking for a talented, ambitious and dedicated individual whose management skills, values, tenacity and drive is as important as professional background. You will have significant experience in the delivery of both commercial and operational property portfolios, with a passion to make a difference.

You will be able to demonstrate innovation and a dynamic approach, as well as the ability to manage and inspire a diverse team of professional surveyors, along with building and sustaining good working relationships with external suppliers, communities and multiple stakeholders in a fast-moving political environment.
