NHBC have a fantastic opportunity for a Chartered Fire Engineer to join their Major Projects Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the assessment of Qualitative Design Reviews (QDRs), fire strategies and CFD modelling submissions in support of Building Control and Warranty projects.

About the role
Take responsibility for the assessment of Qualitative Design Reviews (QDRs) fire strategies and CFD modelling using various software packages.
Manage own workload and allocated tasks by Operational managers, Surveyors and Project Managers to ensure relevant SLA’s are achieved
Assist in negotiations with developers, builders and their professional advisors, from initial design to completion, to ensure proposals are satisfactory in relation to building control and warranty in accordance with relevant regulations/NHBC Standards
Keep up to date with NHBC’s IT systems
Ensure compliance with NHBC and HSE requirements for personal safety and that of others
Assist with the delivery of technical presentations to both internal and external customers where required
Assist with training, coaching and mentoring of others as required
About you
You will have (or be able to demonstrate you are working towards) Chartered membership of the Institute of Fire Engineers and have an in-depth working knowledge and understanding of all aspects of Fire Engineering relating to smoke control solutions.
Having substantial relevant experience with substantial knowledge of the Smoke Control Association guidance documents and associated British Standards. You will have good communication skills both verbal and written with appropriate interpersonal and presentational skills and will be IT literate and proficient in the use a range of MS Office software programs.
A proactive, self-motivated, team player, flexible and willing to get involved with the development of the role. A full driving licence is required.
The role is expected to be home office based however consideration will be given to flexible / home based working subject to appropriate assessments and working environment.
Salary / Benefits:
Salary dependent upon experience
