Hays have been retained by Bailey Partnership who are seeking a Fire Engineer - Team Leader who will play an integral role in leading on fire safety work in relation to the EWS1 Building Safety Fund across the South of the UK. Your role will involve leading the fire engineering team at Bailey Partnership, it’s likely that as you progress in this role that you’ll be able to grow and expand your team of engineers across the south. Your work will be diverse and varied, and would include provision of reports associated with design projects for the architectural and building services team, as well as working closely with the EWS1 Surveying team.

You’ll be an excellent fit for this position if you can meet the following criteria:

• Professional membership with the Institute of Fire Engineers (IFE) or equivalent / similar
• Excellent knowledge of UK standards and regulations, for example BS9999, RRFSO, PAS79, PAS7 or BS7974
• An understanding of guidelines regarding external wall systems along with building regulations (or the ability to learn these quickly)

You’ll need to have a good track record of managing projects from inception through to completion, and you may have been client-facing in previous roles, which would be a distinct advantage. A track record of working within and leading teams would be advantageous – and most importantly, you’ll need to be passionate about fire safety!

This role will offer a starting salary of between £48,000 - £55,000 dependent on level of experience. You’ll have access to a contributory company pension scheme and generous annual leave contribution.

By nature, this role will involve travel to site location, at other times you’ll be set-up to work remotely from home, which will be encouraged. However, you may also need to meet with your team or work form an office, at which point you could work from any of Bailey Partnership’s network of offices in Plymouth, Exeter, Bristol or Sevenoaks.
