This Project Manager role is for a leading Consultancies continued business growth and development within Advisory Services within the North West & Yorkshire PPM team. This Project Manager will be working on projects in the infrastructure and / or buildings sector. They will be responsible for a variety of project management activities with an emphasis on programme management and project control.

In conjunction with senior members across multidisciplinary teams, they are seeking to locate a career minded Project Manager. The overview of the requirements of the role is as follows:

  • Pre- Contract Project Management
  • Contract Management
  • Project Controls
  • Change Control
  • Actions / Issues management
  • Risk Management

Requirements and skills

  • 3-6 years' experience in project management;
    * Solid infrastructure and / or major buildings project management experience; preferably both pre-construction and construction phase;
    * Be able to manage consulting teams from a lead consultant position;
    * Have experience with direct interfacing with clients;
    * Be chartered or nearing chartership from a recognised institution;
    * Knowledge and understanding of design process for major projects;
    * Experience in the infrastructure capital works sector;
    * Roles at this level will manage and/or deliver programmes of work to meet defined objectives;
    * Demonstrate understanding/ application of contract management forms e.g. NEC3, NEC4, JCT or FIDIC;
    * Experience of managing change and reporting on risks;
    * Familiar with project controls and reporting requirements;
    * Interact effectively across the organisation, completing complex professional level tasks for others to ensure projects / programmes can be delivered to meet customer expectations;
    * Proficient in the use of Microsoft Software Excel / Word / PowerPoint or PowerBI);
    * Preferably, familiar with consultancy and the discipline of booking time to projects;

Qualifications:

  • Degree qualified; preferably in project management or engineering or equivalent;
    * Project Management training or relevant qualification.

Desirable skills and experience:

  • Experience in scheduling (MS Project or, preferably or Primavera P6);
  • Experience in managing commercial aspects of a project;
    * Experience in the infrastructure and / or buildings sector preferred. However, we are interested in relevant and broader experience;
    * Wider industry interest and awareness;
    * Inquiring, open-minded approach;
    * Collaborative team-player with ability to operate independently when required;
    * Excellent communication skills;
    * Positive proactive attitude;
    * Hardworking & diligent;
    * Awareness of / experience in Socially Responsible Procurement (SRP), Sustainability and Circular Economy;
