Development Manager

Macdonald & Company are delighted to be working with Segro in the search for an experienced Development Manager. SEGRO is a UK Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) and listed on the London Stock Exchange in the FTSE 100 index. It is a leading owner, manager and developer of modern warehouses and light industrial property with a portfolio comprising 8 million square metres of space (86 million square feet), valued at £12.2 billion. Its assets are positioned strategically at locations in the UK across London and the South-East and Midlands regions, while in Continental Europe it has developments in France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain, The Netherlands and the Czech Republic.
 
You will bring a forward-thinking self-starter approach to the generation and delivery of new development land buying opportunities across the London market; source and generate new “multi-sector” pre-let business with a diverse range of customers across London on both new and existing “held” land; confidently lead and coordinate an extended team of external agents, consultants, and solicitors and coordinate the delivery of the development strategy and capital expenditure programme in line with the agreed Business Plan.
 
You will have 5-10 years post qualified experience of the development cycle (any sector) from site identification to securing pre-let lease completion; be a self-starter with an ability to network, influence and win business; have experience of leading internal and external project teams and a deep understanding of commercial property and drivers of value. Strong Argus Developer skills / equivalent Property Management Systems is required.
