Are you looking for a role were you will be involved in providing the site inspections and checking of plans to ensure building regulation compliance as part of a team?
It is an exciting time to be joining NYBCP as a Building Control Surveyor as new regulations are being implemented. You would become part of an enthusiastic and motivated team effectively delivering the Building Control function throughout North Yorkshire.
NYBCP are employees of Ryedale District Council and enjoy the same benefits of being a local government employee. We offer a good working environment at work, with professional employers. While we always provide high standards of work, it is important to us that all our employees have the right work / life balance; so you can enjoy the things in life that matter to you. We have fun at work too! We believe we do our best work when we love what we do!
As we deliver vital services to the general public, this brings into sharp focus the complexity of people’s lives, and the need for work and home life to complement each other. We recognise the different circumstances of our employees. We offer flexible working hours to improve the services by individuals or teams working beyond the standard day, and to help employees to balance their work and home commitments. Being 'digital by default' can enable greater flexibility around home or remote working. This connectivity can ensure that in extreme weather conditions people can safely work from home instead of risking a treacherous journey. Part-time jobs and job sharing are the norm in the public sector.
We are proud to be the first Local Authority Building Control Partnership in the UK; providing a flexible and modern building control service on behalf of Hambleton, Richmondshire, Ryedale, Scarborough and Selby Councils. We have a wealth of experience and knowledge across all types of projects and construction techniques and encouraging innovative solutions.
We process Building Regulation applications under the provisions of Section 91 and 92 of the Building Act 1984. Building Regulations exist to secure the health, safety, welfare and convenience of people in and about buildings, together with the conservation of fuel and power, and access and facilities for disabled people.
In addition to Building Regulations, we undertake work in relation to dangerous structures and demolition notifications across the Partnership area.
