Job description

The Valuation Office Agency (VOA) is recruiting Level 6 Chartered Surveyor Apprentices across the UK. If you enjoy working within a fast paced, challenging environment then this is an excellent opportunity to join our highly skilled and diverse organisation.

We are looking for talented individuals eager to start a surveying career where the Valuation Office Agency will pay for you to complete a BSc (Hons) Real Estate degree apprenticeship and provide you with the training and development you will need to become a Chartered Surveyor with the Royal Institute of Surveyors (RICS).

When you join the Level 6 programme, you will undertake a variety of roles including surveying and valuing properties for either Council Tax or Non-Domestic Rating. We will provide full training and mentoring. An individual training programme will be put in place for you to make sure you get the right mix of work and breadth of experience required to complete your Apprenticeship and become a Chartered Valuation Surveyor.

Off-the-job training will be provided by the University College of Estate Management (UCEM). On completion you will achieve a Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) accredited BSc (Hons) in Real Estate Management. Rather than attending formal lectures or classes, you’ll study using UCEM’s state-of-the-art online learning environment and digital library, supported with guidance from highly experienced tutors.

Company

We define value in terms of our people: high quality training, interesting and varied work, and a balance with life outside of work.

Our surveyors take on wide-ranging work with major social impact. We value millions of UK properties, from airports to zoos. Our work underpins the collection of over £50 billion each year to help fund public services. And while our focus is public, the mind-set and pace are distinctly business orientated.

Along the way, your personal development is properly structured, progression is actively supported, exceptional training is available, and some of the most experienced professionals in the industry are on hand to share their expertise. And while we work hard, we respect your work-life balance, with working conditions reflecting the best in the sector.

That’s our definition of value.

Defining Value through our people

Our people take on wide-ranging work with major social impact. We value millions of UK properties - from airports to zoos. Our work underpins the collection of over £51 billion of local government taxation, so it's vital in funding the UK's public services such as schools and hospitals.

We employ approximately 3,600 people, with 43 offices across England, Wales and Scotland. If you chose to build your career with us, we will continue to invest in you and develop your skills, so that we build on what we already do well and deliver more in the future. Over the past year we have supported over 300 of our people to gain professional qualifications in operational skills.

We offer structured personal development, progression opportunities, and exceptional training with some of the most experienced professionals in our industry who are on hand to share their expertise and support. While we work hard, we respect your work-life balance, with flexible working conditions reflecting the best in the sector.

We're committed to inclusion and our simple aim is to be a great organisation to work for, and we make sure to deliver on our promise to be an inclusive employer. That makes the Valuation Office Agency a place where you can bring your whole self to work. It's also somewhere you can achieve your potential.
