Subsequently the exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic person to join our Field Operations Consents Team, working primarily in the North East and Yorkshire.

Working as part of a large team, you’ll be responsible for negotiating and securing property acquisitions, wayleaves and easements, plus environmental consents, and be able to successfully negotiate compensation claims for agricultural losses.

The work will be varied including, substation site acquisitions, disposals, rent reviews, lease renewals, wayleaves and easement, agricultural compensation claims, access arrangements and general landowner liaison. You’ll work closely with our grantors, customers, agents, local authorities and statutory bodies, and share advice and technical knowledge with colleagues.

You will be required to demonstrate an understanding of certain key areas including; property valuations, landlord and tenant provisions, agriculture, as well as environmental designations, planning, surveying and project management and should have a good basic understanding of property and land law matters.

The role requires an individual who is customer focussed, highly motivated, organised and IT literate, and has the ability to communicate effectively with our Stakeholders, Engineers and Contractors. You’ll work well under pressure and have the ability to manage your own workload proactively, whilst maintaining an attention to detail.

Candidates should ideally hold a degree level qualification in Property, Law, Agriculture, Land Management, or a related subject, and be prepared to undertake further study if necessary to achieve membership of RICS (inc AssocRICS) or CAAV if not already qualified.

Consequently, as this role may involve visiting and entering our customers’ premises, please be aware that the successful candidate will be subject to a basic Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
