Planned Works Building Surveyor - Somerset

Long-term interim opportunity for a Building Surveyor / Planned Works Surveyor to join a housing association

Your new company
You will join one of the UK's leading providers of social and affordable housing, with a large number of properties located in the south west and southern UK regions including Somerset. Your new company manage and maintain over 40,000 homes and are responsible for asset worth over £1 billion in value.

Your new role
As a Surveyor you will be predominately responsible for the delivery of major works, cyclical programmes and planned maintenance delivery across Somerset. Representing the client, and working as a contract administrator, you will be involved in contracts management, and supervision of contractors - often using NEC contracts.

What you'll need to succeed
You will need to have prior experience delivering major or planned works across housing, ensuring that the highest possible quality is provided across all work streams. This is a technical role, and you'll also be responsible for undertaking defect diagnosis and property inspections, therefore a good pathology background could be useful.

What you'll get in return
You'll receive an initial interim contract with duration of an initial 9-12 months although this is highly likely to extend further, and could progress into a permanent position. A competitive hourly rate of pay is available either PAYE directly with Hays, via an Umbrella, or working through a PSC with deductions.
