The University of Portsmouth is a dynamic and ambitious institution with a track record of success. One of only four universities in the south east of England to achieve a Gold rating in the Teaching Excellence Framework and ranked in the top 150 in the Times Higher Young University World Rankings.

The School of Civil Engineering and Surveying (SCES) at the University of Portsmouth invites applications for the post of Teaching Fellow in Real Estate.   The postholder will contribute to the established professionally accredited programmes offered in the School.

SCES is seeking experienced, motivated individuals able to inspire undergraduate and postgraduate students in the delivery of our RICS-accredited Real Estate teaching.  We particularly welcome applications from those with expertise in property economics and investment and property law.  Development of employable graduates is a key aim of our School and you will therefore be expected to provide an outstanding experience for our students and degree apprentices.

Applicants should have an awareness of the current trends and developments in the property industry, both nationally and internationally and enthusiasm for the development of innovative teaching initiatives including the development of on-line learning materials.

The School has an excellent staff-student relationship and healthy undergraduate and postgraduate recruitment representing a broad range of professionally accredited courses, reinforced by excellent links with both commercial practice and professional institutions.  Full support will be provided to develop academic skills.

The University supports flexible working and the panel are willing to consider applications from candidates who wish to work part-time on a fractional basis.  Please state in your reasons for applying if you wish to apply for this role on a part-time basis, and the number of hours you would be interested in working if so.

We welcome applications from all qualified applicants, but applications are particularly encouraged from traditionally under-represented groups. The University of Portsmouth holds an Athena Swan bronze award and is committed to introduce organisational and cultural practices that promote gender equality and create a better working environment for all.   The School is supportive of flexible working and is willing to consider arrangements for those with caring responsibilities.  The University of Portsmouth’s teaching has achieved the highest possible ‘Gold’ rating in the Teaching Excellence Framework in recognition of the excellence of its teaching.

The University of Portsmouth believes this role may be eligible for sponsorship with UKVI under the Skilled Worker Route visa. Please familiarise yourself with the requirements set out before applying for this role. If you are unable to meet the requirements for sponsorship you will need to confirm details of an alternative visa to work in the UK when applying for this role.

As an equal opportunities employer, we welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons and all appointments will be made on merit. As we are committed to the principles of the Race Equality Charter Mark, we would particularly welcome applications from Black, Asian, or from other ethnic groups who are currently under-represented at this level in this area.
