Project Manager / Co-ordinator - German speaking

THE ROLE

I am seeking a Project Manager / Project Co-ordinator in the Building Construction industry who has good or fluent German and good English to join a firm of construction consultants in Berlin.

You will assist the Senior Project Manager working on new build, fit out, refurbishment and repurpose of various construction projects.

Current projects include office refurbishments, new build offices, new build warehuses, student accommodation, data centres. Also possibly some infrastructure projects forthcoming for rail projects etc.

Project values up to around Euro 150m.

My client will support you to become chartered as a project manager and will offer excellent prospects to move up within the firm.

You will work on projects from feasibility to project delivery and you will deal with international clients through to contractors on site.

THE COMPANY

My client is a successful firm of construction consultants providing clients with Project Management, Cost Management and Construction Management services.

They are working on building construction projects across Germany and sometimes outside of Germany too.

They have a number of offices across Germany and offices across many other EU countries and further afield.

THE CANDIDATE

You will be Degree qualified in a construction related subject e.g. Construction Management, Construction Project Management, Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying, Architecture, Civil Engineering etc.

Ideally you will be working towards becoming chartered or keen to work towards becoming chartered with ICE, IOB, RICS or similar.

You will need to have gained around two years or more experience in a building construction related role and be keen to progress your career with a firm of consultants doing project management and project co-ordination.

You will ideally have been working for a firm of building construction consultants or worked client-side.

You must have an understanding of all commercial and economic aspects of construction projects of high value.

You will need to have an understanding of construction constracts whether it be the VOB / JCT / NEC or similar and all stages of the HOAI or RIBA or similar.

You will need fluent or at least good German. Good English is also required.

Good communication skills are essential and to have the ability to deal with people at all levels.

Excellent prospects for ambitious candidates within their Berlin office or in other offices across Germany.

Salary is negotiable according to experience but in the region of Euro 55000 to 60000 per annum plus other benefits along with support towards becoming chartered as a project manager.
