Park Avenue are currently looking for an experienced Programme Manager to work with one of our Local Authority clients in London on their New Homes Programme.

The position will be based around providing strategic programme management and leadership to all New Build stakeholders, including internal and external services, technical and professional advisers and suppliers responsible for the direct delivery of new build and regeneration projects from inception to completion.

Duties in the role

  • To provide strategic oversight management to multi-disciplinary project teams and the New Homes programme.
  • Be responsible for the programme direction and performance of a highly professional and technical project management service responsible for borough new build and regeneration schemes. These will have significant impacts within the borough and the council Plan targets.
  • To control & focus improved programme management functions across New Homes Programme to provide high quality, programme management and develop support to enable teams to achieve high standards.
  • Lead the empowerment and motivation of the Programme team to make a positive contribution delivering an excellent service and the expeditious identification of new build sites.
  • Ensure other council Divisions and Departments deliver their aspects of the programme at the appropriate times in the borough wide development delivery is met year on year.
  • Initiate, develop and secure approval for funding bids to external bodies to secure funding to support the overall viability of a £500m delivery programme

What you need

  • Understanding of the scope and content of current legislation and other developments which affect and influence New Build and regeneration projects.
  • Extensive experience of monitoring and programme management of large-scale capital programmes.
  • Detailed understanding of the financial reporting and programme monitoring for a multi-million delivery programme.
  • An understanding of the regulatory bodies and statutory obligations that govern affordable housing delivery and ability to research, interpret and implement regulatory guidance.
  • Either a degree or relevant professional qualification in Programme or Project management (or similar equivalent) or an ability to show that appropriate experience and knowledge has been achieved to undertake the range of duties.

Contract

The position will be for an initial 12 month contract and there has already been indication that an extension is possible.

The role will be completely remote based with visits to the office when the work requires it.

The contract will run off a 37 hour week.
