Your new company
This company provide Construction Consultancy services across the South East and have done so for over three decades. The heart of what they do is a cost consultancy and quantity surveying practice, but with an established network of clients and repeat business, they often find themselves providing other services which include Contract Administration, Employer's Agent, Clerk of Works, Project Management or Principal Designer. They work across multiple sectors Commercial, Education, Healthcare, Hospitality and Residential with project values ranging from £500k - £20 million.
Over the course of the last 14 months they have been able to focus on client development not only with their current client base but with new clients, as a result they have won numerous contracts, and this has strengthened the business and given them a strong pipeline of work. As with most companies, they have also found that having staff working from home has proved beneficial and productivity has remained the same if not improved as a result, so as restrictions lift and we move back to some form of normality, they are looking to maintain a balance of WFH and in the office whilst not compromising the productivity.
As a result of continued growth and a large project win for the business, they are now looking for a Project Manager to come on board as be the lead PM for a £60 million new build, extension, and refurbishment project for Education facilities in East Kent. The project currently sits at RIBA stage 3 and about to enter detailed design phases, so the PM will be at the front end of project delivery taking it right through to completion.
Your new role
In the role of the Project Manager you will be tasked and measured in the following acting; as a Project Lead and a key point of contact for the client, approval/Signing of documents/forms/processes, delegation of project tasks, resource reporting to Directors, mentor and train project and assistant project surveyors, have a proven track record of experience in both a PM role, able to manage large scale project(s), experienced in managing a project through its entire lifecycle, programme management, risk management, procurement advice, tender process management and contract administration.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be considered for this role you will need to have the following: MRICS/CIOB or APM Chartered, degree qualified ideally, professional client facing manner with excellent communication and written skills, an excellent team player who can mentor and help others. You will also need to be comfortable with business development and client networking.
