Associate Project Manager (consultancy)

Hays Property and Surveying are seeking an Associate Project Manager to join the Hampshire based office of a leading multi-discipline construction consultancy.

The business holds a strong reputation for providing a range of multi-disciplinary consultancy services across the construction and property sector. Their Project Management Team work with a wide variety of clients across the private and public sector, from blue chips organisations, developers and local government. The team continue to win work and have ambitions for future growth. As such, they are now looking to appoint an additional Associate Project Manager to contribute to these exciting plans.

Your new role
As an Associate Project Manager, you will work closely with the Directors and existing Associates, supporting them with the running of the local Project Management business. You will be responsible for leading and delivering on a range on construction related projects, including both new builds and refurbishments, managing all stages of the project timeline. In addition to this, you will contribute to the growth of the department by proactively securing new business and providing management and support to the more junior members of the team.

Specific responsibilities may include -

• Management and delivery of a variety of construction related projects
• Preparation of feasibility reports, specifications, client briefs and contract tenders
• Budget management from inception to completion including preparation of cash flow forecasts, expenditure reports and processing of contractor payments
• Attend project meetings, prepare progress reports and manage external consultants and contractors
• Manage relationships with new and existing clients and secure additional work via business development
• Provide management, support and mentoring to more junior members in the team
• Work with the Directors and other Associates to achieve key business objectives and growth

What you'll need to succeed

• Professional membership, such as MRICS / MCIOB / MAPM
• Extensive experience of working within a construction consultancy
• Demonstrable experience of managing a variety of construction projects from inception to completion
• Abilities in leading and managing clients and experience of business development
• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and construction contract forms
• Strong leadership qualities and excellent communication skills
