Project Manager - Commercial

London

Our client is recruiting a Project Manager to join a dedicated client account with an initial focus on a large fit out scheme in London. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager on the project, providing support as well as leading with Project Management tasks through RIBA Stages 4-7 including transformation to operation.

The dedicated Project Management Team are responsible for seeing a project through from the initial planning stages to completion. Their main task is to break down projects into stages, taking responsibility for monitoring and managing the programme, cost, quality, and risk of each stage of the project.

They are a sector focused business actively operating and investing in Commercial, Residential, Education, Sports, Nuclear and Retail clients, and projects. Surveyors work in close contact with the client, advising them on legal and financial matters that arise during the project.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the SPM with monitoring and managing the programme, cost, quality, and risk of each stage of the project, noting that that project is carried out in Tranches and both Design and Construction activities will be running concurrently.

  • Supporting with and in cases leading with maintaining project reporting and governance documentation
  • Risk Register and Assumptions Logs
  • Programme and milestone updates
  • Preparation of Reports (Checkpoint, Estates Programme Board etc)
  • Change Control
  • Communications log
  • Document control
  • Support Commercial activities
  • Coordination of team meetings and taking minutes where required
  • Reviewing contractor and delivery team reports
  • Health and Safety
  • Monitoring of design and site quality and progress
  • Monitoring the site Handover process

Professional Skills:

  • Management and preparation of key stage reports from feasibility through to completion and post-handover
  • Preparation of various programmes
  • Preparation of progress reports and presentation at monthly client meetings
  • Running a competitive tender process including managing queries from tendering contractors
  • Managing multiple projects on 'LIVE' operational sites
  • Assistance with the preparation of contract documents
  • Management of multi-disciplinary project teams
  • Working knowledge of various forms of building contracts
  • Experience of Administering building contracts

Person Specification:

  • SC Clearance required, or capable to obtain.
  • Construction Project Management degree or a similar construction related qualification with extensive technical delivery experience in a similar role gained within a consultancy or end user client.
