Joshua Robert Recruitment have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Town Planning Manager to join a large government-backed organisation and play a vital role in the delivery of planning activities across the Midlands and London areas.
The role will involve assisting in the programming, preparation, review and submission requests for approval, working primarily as part of the main works Integrated Project Team, and with engineering and environment teams, consultants and contractors as required.
Duties will also include engaging with local planning authorities on town planning matters and planning application submissions and hybrid Act related processes. Managing, engaging with and advising contractor teams on the preparation of planning material for consents packages.
You will also Advise on Development Consent Order / Transport and Works Act Orders, and planning applications under the Town and Country Planning Act and General Permitted Development Order processes and programme and support with emerging business needs, assisting in design panel reviews, local technical engagement panels and local public engagement activities
You will have knowledge of UK Planning Policy and legislation and an understanding of Environment Impact Assessment Legislation, along with experience in town planning through infrastructure planning and/or dealing with major planning applications under the Town and Country Planning Act 1990
You will ideally be from either a consultancy or Public Sector background and will have experience managing large caseloads.
You will have experience in project or programme management processes and/or successfully managing a varied caseload of applications or projects, along with the ability to provide advice and guidance on the production of drawings and supplemental planning information relating to planning submission.
