Our client: An international consultancy firm operating in offices across the UK and Europe.

Role of the Quantity Surveyor: Supporting the regional transportation team, servicing highways and infrastructure projects in the Southwest and Wales region.

The candidate will be able to:

Working across the highways and civil engineering sectors, providing effective delivery of commercial management services.Supporting project delivery across the South West and Wales region working with a variety of clients. Supporting the transportation team on complex projects.Understand highways construction technology and methodology alongside how this translates into costs.Understand the clients' programme and project objectives.Manage a project throughout its life cycle.

The Role:

Responsibility as Quantity Surveyor under minimal supervision for smaller projects (including pre and post project controls) relating to highways and infrastructure, as well as supporting the commercial team on larger projects.Preparing client cost reports and reporting on change during the life of a projectPreparing cost estimates and preparation of pricing documents such as BoQ's and Activity schedules.Compiling NEC contracts.Applying quality assurance principles and environmental management in compliance with the organisation's policies.Complying with the commercial services toolkit.Participating in relevant internal/external training initiatives.Requirements:

Relevant construction qualification and/or working towards professional membership of recognised institutions i.e. CIOB or RICS.A good understanding of current construction contracts, especially NEC3/4 Some inclusion on the commission/projects as lead QS or NEC PM.Experience of both pre and post contract quantity surveyingExperience using the method of measurement for highway projects using QCR.Experience of both public and private sector clients.Strong IT skills with an understanding of Microsoft Excel, Project, Word, and outlookClean UK driving license.Prepared to travel within the South West and Wales region to support project delivery.
